So, some of you know that for the last few years I've been compiling ideas for a novel. It's one of my dreams to be a published writer. Over the last few weeks it's been in the forefront of my mind.
Tonight my muse paid a visit. In Sepia. And this is what I came up with.
"She stood on the roof of the building, the city spread out below her, lights twinkling. The wind whipped her hair around her and forked lightening flashed through the sky. Arms outstretched and eyes closed, her face raised to the sky. She leaned forward and gravity took it's hold."
It's a long way to go yet, and I have loads of other paragraphs that I'm not entirely sure where to put them, but this is the start. The very first paragraph.
Although once I finish it (I will!) and a publisher decides they want to publish, there's no doubt that if may not make the final cut.
Who knows!
Can't wait for more inspiration and a chance to share with you all.
The in's and out's of my life, the recipes I come up with and general ramblings, when I can be bothered to write that is. I'm a 27 year old woman living in London, trying to navigate life without killing myself or anyone else. Married with no kids and working to pay for everything I can't afford. Despite having a blog, I don't blog as often as I should or need to.

3's
Ever heard the saying "it happens in 3's"? It rang true today. Well technically yesterday now, but whatever.
Let me tell you about my 3's.
1. I got on the train with my train pass (3 months validity, still 2 months left on it) my work pass, my collectors pass (for work), my warrant badge and card, my Oyster card, My Staff Travel Pass and Staff Travel Discount pass and my bank card, in this lovely black wallet style, well, pass holder.
I got off the train and it was gone. I looked everywhere. I called the station I boarded the train from and got them to search the platforms and ask the ticket office if anything was handed in. I got information to radio control to check with the guard. NOTHING.
I got to work, called Oyster and cancelled the card and got a new one issued. I called the bank and cancelled my bank card. I spoke to my boss to cancel my work pass and note everything as missing and requests for new ones. I filled in the form to replace my missing travel documents of which it's costing me a £15 charge for each item to be replaced.
2. I go to the photo machine to get some photos done to replace my ID Photo Card. The machine asks me to insert my money. I insert my £5. Nothing happens. No photos, no refund. I email the company requesting my £5 back! I use another machine where I can pay by card. Photo's done. They look crap.
3. On my way home I'm at a Pedestrian crossing, as I start to cross, a car flies past me, driver not paying attention to the road, rather choosing to continue his conversation on his phone (ILLEGAL!!) and almost kills me) or at least nearly injures me.
Overall, it wasn't a good day.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't Tuesday, but Monday in disguise (she does that occasionally)
Here's hoping Wednesday is nice to me.

Stats confuse me
I'm not one to look at the stats on this blog. In fact I very rarely check them, maybe every 2 months or so.
Yesterday I decided to have a peek and got the shock of my life. Just over 900 hits in 2 days.
Wondering if it's some sort of error on Bloggers part, I checked again this morning.
A further 800 hits since I checked yesterday.
From some dude in the US, looking for Boobs.
I'm astounded.

the Birthday Bag
We have a birthday bag. By we, I mean, myself and my 2 sisters-in-law. It's tradition, has been for the last 3 years at least.
The birthday bag is a cute gift bag in which we put presents in. I'd pack it for Tash, She'd pack it for Soph and Soph would pack it for me, and it would do the rounds each year.
Guess who lost the bag?
That'd be me.
I knew exactly where I'd put it, however sorting the flat out in the weeks after we moved, it got moved to somewhere else and now I can't find it. I've been looking for it for about 2 weeks now.
Today is Tash's birthday, and I have to have the bag, but despite looking everywhere, I can't find it.
So I plucked up the courage and told the girls, that I'd lost the bag, over twitter.
My sister-in-law Soph was gutted, and asked that I make the new bag highly inappropriate. So today I got a new bag (I just know that I'll find the old bag tomorrow or something). The tradition has evolved. See the new bag(s) in all their glory!
