So I went to see my parents today, and whilst coming back on the train, there was this small kid, about 4 or so, running up and down the aisle, he was singing and making areoplane noises and it was the cutest thing ever.  After he got tired of that he started giggling with his mother (I assume she was his mother anyway) and the giggling was hysterical giggling. and it made me smile and think of my favourite things to hear.

1. My husband coming home.  I know roughly when he is due home, and so when I hear the key in the lock, I'm so happy!  Sometimes my husband and I go for days without really seeing or talking to each other, due to conflicting work schedules.  But when I hear that key in the lock, I am probably at my most happiest.  I'd run and jump on him, in fact I often want to run and jump into his arms, however I refrain from doing so to avoid injury.  I'm sure he's grateful!

2. Laughing babies and toddlers.  I LOVE that sound.  I can't explain it, but I think it's magical, and funny and wonderful all rolled into one.  One of my favourite adverts is the Cow & Gate milk advert.  The chubby baby at the end laughing, gets me everytime!  Never seen the ad?  Check it here.  I can't wait to have kids, so I get to hear them laugh.  I promise I'll make them laugh everyday.

3. Rain.  Rain, like proper heavy rain, hitting the roof and the windows.  It's such a soothing sound.  I love being wrapped up in bed, listening to the rain.

4. Thunder.  A lot of people hate thunder.  I love it.  I love it because it means theres going to be a storm, which means rain, or lightening, or both.  I love storms.

5. The Ice Cream Truck.  This is like every kids favourite sound.  I remember hearing the icecream truck when I was younger.  On the island I lived on, I swear there was only ever 1 ice cream truck.  He musta made a FORTUNE!  He would hit the middle school every afternoon and the beach every Saturday and Sunday Afternoon.  Ice cream from the ice cream truck isn't the same now as it was then.  My favourite then?  Grapenut icecream. and Chocolate Chip. NOM.

6. The Sea.  I love the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the rocks and the jetty at Spotts (Where I grew up.)  The sound of the sea washing up on the beach, is just soothing, and I could sit on the beach for hours watching it and listening to it.

7. The NCIS theme tune.  I love the show, and the theme tune is catchy.  My hubs and I have a dance, sorta, it makes us chuckle.  Did you know that in the second series, they added an extra few bars of music in the opening credits to make way for another Character?  NO? me either! not till my husband pointed it out!

8. My cooking.  Now I know what you're going to say.  My Cooking is not a sound.  But what I mean is, the sound of people saying "that was really good!" after I've cooked a meal. 

9. My nephew talking.  He's 2 (on the 30th June) and I love hearing him talk.  He says NO to everything.  He got it from the Spot books.  He's adorable.  This is him at 18 months wearing my mothers old glasses.  He is totally adorable.

10. Silence.  Sometimes it's good not to hear anything at all.  Just to sit back, relax and enjoy doing nothing.
