So, it snowed yesterday. for a fair few hours. then of course, typical England weather, it rained and washed it all away. but still, it was fun. it felt christmassy and I literally skipped all the way to work!
According to the weather forecast, we're getting a cold snap from late tonight. Cold air sitting over Russia will be moving towards us, picking up mositure from the North Sea and then blanketing us with snow early Friday morning. The forecast is for heavy snow from around 1 am until mid morning and then light snow showers thereafter until early evening.
Last February we got about 3 -5 inches of snow, maybe a little more in other places. London came to a standstill. There was enough salt to grit the roads, the tracks froze over in most places. There were no buses, hardly any trains, trams, etc. It literally closed down. People in Canada laughed at us. They get 4 inches of snow a day sometimes. We get it once a year. It does make me wonder if it will be the same tomorrow morning. Will all of this snow cause London to cease working? Bearing in mind now that we have known about this cold snap since yesterday. Surely 48 hours is enough time to ensure the the roads are salted etc etc.
This was the scene from February. One train on a busy strectch of line. Where were the others?!?
So, let's see. Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! and Let us see if the capital can cope this time round.
The in's and out's of my life, the recipes I come up with and general ramblings, when I can be bothered to write that is. I'm a 27 year old woman living in London, trying to navigate life without killing myself or anyone else. Married with no kids and working to pay for everything I can't afford. Despite having a blog, I don't blog as often as I should or need to.

tis the season to be jolly
So, we've got 15 days til Christmas. I for one am a little excited, like I usually get at Christmas.
This will be my first Christmas with my husband (well first Christmas married to him - we've shared other Christmases before). Except being the good man he is, he volunteered to work on Christmas Day.
You see, he works for a well known International Hotel brand, and one of it's hotels is literally a 15 minute walk from our home, therefore he offered to work, as he lived so close. (isn't he the nicest!)
Therefore, as he has to be at work for 7 a.m. our first Christmas together is going to start very early (which is normal, considering I'm up before the crack of dawn every Christmas morning!)
The day will start with us opening our Christmas stockings - which I have lovingly stuffed full of goodies for him. I hope mine is awesome! Then we'll have a very early christmas bacon sarnie and fresh coffee, before I send my husband off to an empty hotel to work. Whilst I then prepare the festivites for the family that are coming to our house for Christmas this year.
Secretly I'm still hoping my husbands boss gives him Christmas off, but hey ho (no pun intended) we'll still have the best Christmas ever.

Fiction reveals truths that reality obscures
Not entirely sure what my blog title has to do with my blog, but, you know, whatever.
I find myself not blogging again. and I was doing so well!!!! ok, so time to remedy that.
Last post suggests I got a job. It's not the best job in the world, but it'll do. At least I have some money now, even if it's only £5 at the end of all my bill payments....
So what's new with me??
Got a job.
and I really can't think of anything else.
It's coming up to Christmas, and Daniel and I have bought nearly all of our presents. We have about 4 more to buy I think and then we're done.
December is a busy month for me. But I get the whole Christmas Break off, which is awesome!! First time that has ever happened to me, outside of school! I usually have to go in the few days after boxing day.
So. I have 2 job interviews this month. Fingers crossed that I get one of them, cause really, truely and honestly? I need more money if we're going to manage comfortably.
I finally have a nuerologist appointment too, so hopefully they'll find out what's wrong with my wrists and fix it!
Christmas will be spent with my new husband at home, Boxing day with his mum and sister and then the 28th with my family. I havetold asked them to all go to my mums on the 28th so we can all catch up and spend some time together. I can't wait.
Hubby has booked us a nice room for a few nights at one of London's most prestigious hotels. The JW on Park Lane. I am very excited by this!
Lastly - Soph, Kim and Tash and I are heading into Rochester today (Kent) for the Charles Dickens Christmas Festival. I've been before and it was pretty awesome, so I hope they find it awesome too. I just hope the rain clears away so it's not raining all day!!
