So I got a call yesterday from a recruitment consultant about a job as a team leader.
She asked me questions, told me a bit about the job and then asked if I could come and see her at the client site for some more questions.
she called me this morning at 8.30 to see if I could make it, and I could, so I headed off to North Acton for 3.30
Now this job is a temporary contract role for 5 months. I've never ever interviewed for a contract role, so I've no idea exactly what happened today.
She said that we;d go through my CV, she'd ask me some questions, and then check my documents to make sure I wasn't an illegal (well she didn't say exactly like that, but you get the idea)
So off we start, she asks me several questions, takes my documents to photocopy and gives me some forms to fill in. Then she says, the client have said they want us to choose, so basically you've just had the interview, and then I sign a temporary worker contract. apparantly she'll call me tomorrow to let me know.
anyone gone through a contract job before? is that how it's supposed to work?
The in's and out's of my life, the recipes I come up with and general ramblings, when I can be bothered to write that is. I'm a 27 year old woman living in London, trying to navigate life without killing myself or anyone else. Married with no kids and working to pay for everything I can't afford. Despite having a blog, I don't blog as often as I should or need to.

If there's one thing I love
It's got to be going to the job centre.
Seriously, it's the best.
Seriously, it's the best.
Nothing makes my day like being treated like a second class citizen/
idiot/uneducated ever other tuesday.
I wonder if the other 2.4 million unemployed in the UK feel the same?
Experiences on a postcard please!

Mr & Mrs Masters
well yesterday was my wedding day, and it was FANTASTIC!
firstly thank you to all who attended, sent cards, gifts, facebook messages and also tweets!!! it was great.
you can see a wedding video here
The day started off with me and my bridesmaids waking up and having breakfast at The Marriott Hotel @ Twickenham Stadium.
I then went off to get my hair done at the hairdressers, and my nails done by Sophie (my new sister in law)
Then it was make up time, and getting dressed.
The flowers got stuck in traffic, so I was a little stressed, and traffic was gridlock, which didnt help. The flowers arrived at the registry office literally 5 minutes before I got there.
The wedding went well, and the 2 readings were great, and we did lots of pictures, which I'll post soon. promise.
I did however mess up my lines, "i know of no unlawful impedement....) oops! this caused the registrar to miss his lines, and we had to do the part all over again!! ha ha ha! i wanted to laugh. but i refrained from doing so.
Then we made our way to the reception venue, had food, drinks and speeches, all the speeches were fantastic.
Then dancing, drinking and much fun were had by all.
I had a fantastic wedding day and I will truly cherish it.
I want to thank my beautiful bridesmaids, who were a godsend yesterday.
and I want to dedicate this post to my new Husband Daniel (Flams)

4 days and counting
So I started the process today to amend my bank account/credit account/loyalty cards/tax details etc. As I'm getting married this weekend, I thought I'd start calling up and seeing what the process is to change my name and surname.
My bank told me to take my marriage certificate and passport into the branch and change it there, along with my credit card.
Barclays, just did it over the phone, no proof needed.
Sainsburys, told me to write a letter to them, no need to send a copy of the certificate.
Argos, told me to write to them and send a copy of the certificate, as did HMRC.
Boots and Nectar loyalty just amended over the phone.
Im sure there are others to change, but I just cant think of who else I need to inform.
All I think I have to do now, is contact the Electoral Office to update them.
4 days to go. not long now!!!!!!

here comes the bride!
5 days to go everyone! 5 days!!!
I'm a tad excited! can you tell?
I literally have been quite a busy bee over the last few days. On Saturday, I picked up the dresses, took them over to Tashington Manor. Then I went to the hairdressers and did the wedding hair trial. It looked fab. Then I went back to Tashington Manor, where Tash and I got ready for the hen night.
We wandered off to Richmond, met, Sophie and Kim, and proceeded to get the tube, to find that TFL screwed up the platforms, so the train left on time, but on the wrong platform. Great start to the evening. We finally got into town, met up with Beth, my mum, my cousin and her friend and then my friend Liz. I had 27 "confirmed" guests and in the end there were 9 of us. I wasn't overly impressed by those who said they were coming and then just didnt show. Atleast those who couldnt make it, told me before hand.
So we danced, we drank, and people began to wander off around 11 to get their last trains home, leaving myself, Kim, Sophie and Tash to it. The girls entered me into a Dance Competition that kicked off at Midnight. I tell you, Dancing on your own to Tiffany's I Think We're Alone Now in front of hundreds of people is humiliating. Note to friends and family, I am only comfortable being in the lime light around those I know.
We then decided to leave and head for the night buses at 12.30, swapping shoes in the middle of the road. Sophie soon found out that the pavement is cold. Night Buses in London are total rubbish. We ended up in Fulham, in a Premier Inn, waiting for a taxi, as the N10 is shite. Not getting home until 2.50.
Sophie and I then proceeded to have fits of giggles, maybe going to sleep around 3.30.
The next morning we had m0re laughs, as the three of us (Tash, Soph and I) lounged on the airbed.
I also had to try and wash all the hair spray and back combing out of my hair. Thanks to Tash for helping, and for Soph taking the pictures!!
In other news, Daniels mum has been poorly. She has a Kidney Infection, and ended up in the hospital on an IV. poor Mae. Hopefully it is clearing up and she will have the IV out in time for the wedding.
I have 2 more gifts to wrap. and this week is manically busy.
Today I went to Guildford to see my godmother and her husband. They both live in Cayman, and I wasn't expected to see them in the UK, so when I got the call on Saturday, I practically screamed down the phone.
We looked round the shops, and did some shopping, had lunch etc. Shopping with Raymond is hilarious. On Sunday my god-brother Brian's fiancee is coming over for a bit. Her name is Gina and she is Thai and makes yummy yummy Thai food. So on Monday, they are coming into London, and we're going to do a Big Bus Tour around, and then go to Harrods. I cant wait!
so this week....
Tomorrow - Library Books are due back, then I have to tidy up and go to the job centre, before coming home, changing and going to Badminton.
Wednesday - going to mums for midday to see my grandparents and aunt and uncle from cayman, this is the first time Daniel is meeting them. Then in the evening Daniel has friends over (I think)
Thursday - collecting the guys suits from Kingston, Toiletry shopping, then over to my mums for a family dinner
Friday - all morning at the spa, then checking in to the hotel, then waiting for the cake and stand and my sister (bridesmaid) to be delivered. Then dinner, then back to the hotel to watch Soph on Derren Brown.
Saturday - get married!
excited!

17 days to go. Still so much to do. problem is that I have no motiviation. argh. oh well, I guess I'd better find some soon!
Derren Brown show is going to be awesome. Not allowed to discuss what we are doing during filming, but what I can say is that it is going to be great. I have filming tonight, and on Saturday, and then next Wednesday too.
Currently watching Beauty and the Geek. Awesome show. Makes me howl with laughter sometimes.
