The in's and out's of my life, the recipes I come up with and general ramblings, when I can be bothered to write that is. I'm a 27 year old woman living in London, trying to navigate life without killing myself or anyone else. Married with no kids and working to pay for everything I can't afford. Despite having a blog, I don't blog as often as I should or need to.

no room at the inn
so nhs red tape surrounds me, and I am totally not pleased. stupid NHS.
I went to the dentist on Monday, cause my wisdom teeth had been killing me since the previous Thursday. He looked at them, told me one had an infection, prescribed me antibiotics and told me that both wisdom teeth needed to come out and that he couldn't do the procedure. He referred me to another clinic in Thamesmead, so I went up there, needless to say that was a waste of time.
Today I spent 4 hours at Guys Dental Hospital to be told the following
- I have an infection surrounding the gum of both lower wisdom teeth
- both lower wisdom teeth are impacted and therefore need to be removed
so you'd think by now, they'd give me something to sort out the infection and then do the procedure to take out the teeth. well if you thought that, you only got 1 out of 2 right.
They gave me antibiotics to take but then said, "although the teeth should come out, we can't take them out, because you don't meet the criteria."
It turns out that the government put a quota in place a few years back, because dentists were taking out wisdom teeth left right and centre, and wasting money and resources. So now wisdom teeth can only be removed if the patient suffers with pain on more than 1 occassion and the pain is bad enough for them to visit the hospital, or there is an unknow growth on the tooth.
ARGH!! I have never heard such bollocks in my life.
As this was my first time to the dentist for this issue/problem, and there is no abnormal growth on either tooth, I can't have them out. Instead I have to suffer in pain.
I even looked at going private and was quoted £400. what a joke. in this day in age how do they expect people to afford that?
I am giving serious consideration to just taking out private health and dental and telling the UK Government to give me back my freaking NI Contributions, cause lets face it, by the time I retire in 50 odd years there probably wont be a state pension, so what is the point in me paying nearly £300 a month in NI contributions and getting nothing in return.
I fucking hate the NHS, I really fucking do!

when you can live forever, what do you live for?
I've started re-reading the 1st book again, and I'm going to continue reading them all. they're fabbity fab fab awesome.
anyway, so update on what's been going on.
not a lot to be honest.
last week I was really annoyed, as someone that works in my office told another manager that I spend all my time planning my wedding online and looking at non-work related websites, which is not true at all. basically using the internet for personal use during working hours is gross misconduct, so I could have been sacked. needless to say I was extremely angry.
Yes I use the internet at work, but I use it for work. All during October, November and December I spent a lot of time doing research for a presentation, hence using the internet. as clever as i am, i can't just conjure up information out of thin air.
I have two assumptions
1 - they saw me on the internet and assumed I was not working and the site was not work related.
2 - they were being vindictive and speading rumours.
now if they were doing the 2nd assumption, then perhaps they should do a bit more back ground work before starting rumours....seeing as my wedding was all organised quire a while back and there's nowt really left to do to be fair. well not that needs to be done online anyway.
so - that bugged me off to no end.
Quins match was cancelled due to the pitch being frozen. so we went to the pub instead and had many lols.
poor tilly.
tonight i'm off for dinner at cafe rouge. tomorrow is Daniels graduation. got to charge the camera batteries.....
Saturday I believe we are doing wedding stuff. got to ring the DJ.
Sunday I am going to the theatre with Soph and Tash to see Edward Scissorhands. should be good. :-)
other than that, nowt all planned.
:-)
