let it snow let it snow let it snow!

So, it snowed yesterday. for a fair few hours.  then of course, typical England weather, it rained and washed it all away.  but still, it was fun.  it felt christmassy and I literally skipped all the way to work!

According to the weather forecast, we're getting a cold snap from late tonight.  Cold air sitting over Russia will be moving towards us, picking up mositure from the North Sea and then blanketing us with snow early Friday morning.  The forecast is for heavy snow from around 1 am until mid morning and then light snow showers thereafter until early evening.

Last February we got about 3 -5 inches of snow, maybe a little more in other places.  London came to a standstill.  There was enough salt to grit the roads, the tracks froze over in most places.  There were no buses, hardly any trains, trams, etc.  It literally closed down.  People in Canada laughed at us.  They get 4 inches of snow a day sometimes.  We get it once a year.  It does make me wonder if it will be the same tomorrow morning.  Will all of this snow cause London to cease working?  Bearing in mind now that we have known about this cold snap since yesterday.  Surely 48 hours is enough time to ensure the the roads are salted etc etc.

This was the scene from February.  One train on a busy strectch of line.  Where were the others?!?

So, let's see.  Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! and Let us see if the capital can cope this time round.
